Powder dispense
Electrolyte and electrode development lives or dies by how well you handle powders — salts, conductive carbons, and all the other tricky stuff. Stuntman 's SV and Classic hoppers make that grind easy. They handle everything from free-flowing powders to stubborn, chunky solids. Load up any combo of Classic and SV hoppers on a single Stuntman deck. Let the adaptive algorithms learn each powder flow profile to ensure precise delivery from sub-milligram to gram scale.
Classic hoppers come in 10, 25, 50, and 100 mL sizes and crush one-to-many dispenses when the same powder goes into multiple wells. Running screens with tons of different powders? Storage Vial (SV) hoppers are your go-to. They use standard 4 mL glass vials with disposable heads. Stack dozens on deck and keep hundreds more off deck. These small hoppers give you flexibility, full traceability, and can be reused across multiple experimental runs.
Liquid, viscous, and slurry dispense
Electrolyte formulation means handling everything from volatile solvents to thick gels and dense slurries — and Stuntman is built for all of it. Solvents can be pulled from on-deck or off-deck sources, with volumes ranging from just a few microliters to hundreds of milliliters. Piercing tips keep volatile or moisture-sensitive solvents sealed during transfer, so nothing evaporates or picks up moisture along the way. Each liquid type can be precisely calibrated, eliminating uncertainty and guaranteeing that every dispense hits the exact target volume.
Positive Displacement Tips (PDTs) cover a wide volume range — from 10 µL up to 10 mL — making them perfect for dosing viscous materials like polymer electrolytes, gels, or additives that resist flow. For slurries packed with solids or conductive particles, wide-bore needles ensure smooth, clog-free dispensing every time. No drips, no air gaps, no wasted material — just clean, consistent dispenses that keep your electrolyte and electrode formulations on point and reproducible.
Mixing and thermal control
Uniform, reproducible mixing is critical for consistent electrolyte and slurry performance, and Stuntman gives you total control. From delicate solutions to dense, high-viscosity blends, you can dial in the perfect mixing approach for any material.
Orbital shaking on a Vortex Station and magnetic stirring on a Heated Stir Bay keep standard electrolytes and solutions perfectly homogeneous. An overhead mixer with a customizable paddle powers through high-viscosity systems like thick polymer gels or binder-heavy slurries. For tougher dispersion, homogenizers and sonicators break down agglomerates to ensure fine, even dispersions. For the hardest-to-handle materials, integrated with FlackTek SpeedMixer, or LabRAM acoustic mixer. No matter the material or challenge, Stuntman ensures every sample is mixed evenly, reproducibly, and ready for the next step.
Mixing can be run with temperature control from ambient up to 180 °C and optional active cooling below zero. Speeds and durations are fully programmable, so you can fine-tune shear and mixing profiles for any material.
Electrochemical characterization and analytics
Stuntman brings the key analytics for battery and electrolyte development right onto the deck. Inline conductivity and pH probes keep tabs on ionic strength and stability as formulations come together, and automated pH adjustment makes fine-tuning a snap.
A quick solubility check with on-deck visual inspection or camera imaging shows what’s dissolved, what’s settled, and what’s not worth chasing. When it’s time to dig deeper, variable-temperature EIS measures impedance and conductivity from 25 °C to 100 °C using automated twistlock assemblies that guarantee consistent electrode contact. Profilometry and laser displacement sensors track film thickness and uniformity, tying formulation and processing directly to electrochemical behavior.
And when you need more insight, Stuntman connects seamlessly with third-party tools — potentiostats, Raman, XRD, UV-Vis, or whatever floats your boat — so every electrolyte or electrode sample can be analyzed, characterized, and understood without ever leaving the deck.
